    POSITION TITLE: Registration Clerk DIVISION: Instructional Services
    WORK YEAR: 10 Months DEPARTMENT: Registration
    LOCATION: Schools SALARY SCHEDULE: Support Services

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Registration Clerk performs routine tasks in maintaining attendance and student records.

    MAJOR DUTIES:
    1. Input student attendance, withdrawal, excused absences, and suspensions via computer terminal.
    2. Generate attendance and registration printouts for government agencies, District offices, admin­istra­tion, and teachers.
    3. Distribute absence verification sheets, receive and process.
    4. Answer telephone.
    5. Provide registration and attendance information to outside agencies and other schools.
    6. Provide information and assistance to students and parents regarding registration and atten­dance.
    7. Input telephone tutoring (3-T) data for students that are ill and collect and coordinate home­work for teachers, parents and homebound tutor.
    8. Assist with inputting and maintaining student master file, pre-enrollment information, student sched­ule file, student class ranking and teacher master file.
    9. Assist with transcript certification, grade label application and maintaining clean data files.
    10. Assist with second semester changeover.
    11. Check returned mail for correct addresses.
    12. Perform related duties as assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. High school diploma or GED.
    2. One year of clerical experience.
    3. Ability to type 40 words per minute with accuracy.
    4. Experience in maintaining records, including duties requiring computation.
    5. Ability to learn to operate data entry terminal.
    6. Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff, students, parents and outside public.
